Thank you to all of you who attended the West Berks wellbeing walk this morning. We had a wonderful time, setting out from the Watermill Theatre, Bagnor, and enjoying a one-hour circular walk in the surrounding countryside. We finished back at the Watermill where we were able to stop for refreshments.
West Berks runs a number of wellbeing walks throughout the week, at different times and in different locations. The Thursday walkers meet at the Pineapple on the first Thursday of the month, and at the Watermill Theatre the remaining Thursdays, and they vary the routes walked. We found them to be very welcoming and accommodating. The walks are led by two volunteers, one walking at the front and one at the back of the group, to ensure everyone can walk at their own pace. Link to their website Wellbeing Walks (formerly Walking for Health) – West Berkshire Council .
The walks are free to access and open to everyone, with no obligation to book. However, they do have a WhatsApp group people can join if they would like to be able to communicate with the group leaders (eg if the walk is cancelled for any reason). But there is no obligation to do so: you can just turn up on the day.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take some exercise outdoors in a relaxed, supportive environment with friendly people.
