Description
A 2-part taster session of our full course which offers the opportunity for students to reflect on their own recovery journey using photography as a way of exploring this.
The first part will be on the 18th April. Following an introduction, students will take pictures around Newbury for around 45 minutes (on foot) using a digital camera (which we provide) based on the agreed theme. Then we all return to the training room here at Broadway House to share those images.
Our course leader, Alex, will then put together and print one full image. We will then meet again on the 9th May to review the process and reflect and share the finished word photos.
This course is open to all students who have completed our Welcome to Recovery course and, ideally, at least one of the following additional courses: WRAP, Assertiveness and Self-Esteem, Five Ways to Wellbeing or Self Compassion, or two or more workshops. If you are in doubt as to whether this course is for you please do get in touch and the RiM team will be happy to advise you.
If there is enough interest after the course we hope to run the full Recovery Street course later in the year.
Please note: No photography experience is necessary and cameras will be provided.
Course duration: Two sessions on Thursday 18th April and 9th May 10am – 12:30pm
