Come and join the Recovery in Mind team for an exciting day out in Reading at the Museum of English Rural Life (MERL). We will meet at Newbury station at 9:30am and catch the train together. There will be a 25-minute walk from the station to the museum (there is the option of taking the bus instead which run every 10 minutes if the walk is too much). At 11am we have arranged an introductory talk followed by time then to wonder inside and out to look at the exhibits and take some photographs which we are hoping to use at a later date in an exhibition. Please bring a picnic/packed lunch with you or there is the option to buy lunch. We will then retrace our steps and aim to be back into Newbury by 3:30pm latest.
Entrance to the museum is free so the only cost will be the train ticket which is £8.30 or less if you have a railcard. We don’t want the train ticket cost to be a barrier for anyone to attend so please do get in touch if you require some assistance.
If you live closer to Reading you may decide to meet at the museum at 10:45am instead of coming on the train from Newbury so please do let us know your plans so that we know who to meet where!
