Our Ethos

We believe that people can lead satisfying and meaningful lives despite the mental health challenges they may experience.   By learning to ‘self-manage’ their mental health we can help our ‘students’ (we refer to anyone attending our courses as students) to gain hope, take back control of their lives and make the most of life’s opportunities.

We do this by providing a wide range of free of charge courses, to any adult living in West Berkshire, which allows them to undergo a personal & unique process of redefining their attitudes, values, expectations, goals, skills & roles.

Whilst being mindful of life’s ongoing challenges (mental health or otherwise) we encourage our ‘students’ to look forward with realistic optimism and hope. All our courses are led and designed by both our ‘peer trainers’ who share their own lived experience of mental health challenges and Occupational Therapists who share their wealth of professional knowledge and expertise.  We are committed to the ‘personal’ recovery of our students through co-production, compassion and a shared belief that recovery is possible.
